PART I:
Students will set up a spreadsheet comparing prices of specific items (today's prices as opposed to prices during the Great Depression). Specific items should be decided collectively among students with teacher's assistance. Examples: gasoline, milk, bread, shoes, clothing, candy, automobiles, etc. Online research is necessary to obtain pricing information.
Students will then create a graph to show price comparisons.
PART II:
Students will set up a spreadsheet to compare Gross National Product (GNP), Consumer Price Index, and Unemployment Rate. Comparisons should reflect the above items during the Depression era and the current time period.
Students will then create a graph to show comparison.
